Dr Bruce Farnsworth MB BS
(Sydney), FRCOG (London), FRANZCOG
Dr Bruce Farnsworth graduated from the University
of Sydney in 1981. He undertook his
Specialist Training through the Western Sydney O&G Training Scheme based at
Westmead Hospital.
In 1988 Dr Farnsworth spent one year as Senior Registrar in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Royal
United Hospital
in Bath, UK.
Between 1989 and 1998 Dr Farnsworth developed a Regional Urodynamic
Service and Gynaecology Practice on the New South
Wales Mid North Coast. In 2000 Dr Farnsworth established the Centre for Pelvic
Reconstructive Surgery at Sydney Adventist
Hospital where urologists,
gynaecologists and Colorectal surgeons collaborate to
treat patients from a multidisciplinary perspective. Dr Farnsworth has
published original work in the fields of prolapse and incontinence. He
regularly conducts workshops in Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Sydney
Adventist Hospital
and at Conferences and meetings around the world. Dr Farnsworth is a member of
the International Continence Society, International UroGynaecology
Association and
the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society. He
is the current Vice President of the Australasian Association of Vaginal and
Incontinence Surgeons and joint editor of the international pelvic floor
journal Pelviperineology.
Dr Farnsworth is a Visiting Medical Officer at Sydney
Adventist Hospital,
Prince of Wales Private Hospital
and Westmead Private
Hospital in Sydney.
He is also an Honorary Consultant to the Northern Sydney Area Health Service,
South West Health Service in Bunbury Western
Australia, John Flynn Hospital, Gold Coast, Queensland and Hesperia Private
Hospital in Modena, Italy.
Dr Farnsworth lives in Sydney
with his wife, Yvonne, and four children Louise (20), Karen (18), Raymond (16)
and Clare (11).
