Daniele Grassi:

·        Was born in Modena, Italy, on April 30th 1959.

·        Graduated “ cum Laude” as Medical Doctor, at the Medical School of the University of Modena, on September 1985.                    

·        Served as Medical Officer in the Italian Army, from July 1986 to August 1987.

·        Was trained in Urology at the University of Verona, from 1985 to 1990, and specialised in Urology “cum Laude”, on July 1990.                                                    

·        Became Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU), by having passed the examination on November 1993. Since 1998, regularly  takes the European Board of Urology “in service” annual examination, with positive results.

·        From November 1989 to April 1997, worked as Urologist in a Public Hospital in Thiene (VI), in the North East of Italy, serving a community of 200.000 persons.

·        From May 1997 to August 2002, worked in the Department of Urology of the University Hospital in Modena.

·        Since september 2002 is working at the Department of Urology of the Hesperia Private Hospital in Modena, where is  in charge of the direction of the Service of Functional Urology, Female Urology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery

ACADEMIC ACTIVITY

·        Was Chairman of the program of Urology at the Registered Nurses (R.N.) School in Modena ( 1989-1990), in Schio-Vicenza (1990-91, 1991-92,1992-93), in Thiene-Vicenza (1994-95, 1995-96).

·        Was Chairman of the program of Urology at the Rehabilitation Personnel (R.P.) Public School in Schio- Vicenza(1993-94).

·        Since 1997, is Assistant Professor in the Residency Program of Urology of the University of Modena, chaired by Professor W. Artibani until 2000, and by Professor G. Bianchi since2001.

·        From 1997 to 2000 was co-chairman in the annual course for Continence  Advisors, organised by the Department of Urology of the University of Modena

SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS AND SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

·        Since 1986 gave as many as 32 presentations in International Urological Meetings, and 84 in Italian National Meetings.

·        Has attended as many as 287 Urological Meetings and directly participated in the organisation of 28 Urological meetings in Italy. 

·        He published as many as 111 Scientific Papers, in the fields of Urology, Urogynaecology, Surgery, and Clinical Research.

·        Has published translations English into Italian for international publishers: « Recommendations of the International Consensus Committee », and «Conservative Management in Children with incontinence», from “Incontinence”, Editors Abrams – Khoury – Wein, on Behalf of the WHO (World Health Organisation), from the 1st International Consultation on Incontinence.
