Graduation   Medicina e Chirurgia, July 1972, University of Perugia, magna cum laude.

 

Specializations

Urology, July 1975, University of Florence, magna cum laude. Title of the thesis: “Kidney tumors embolization”. Published on: The Journal of Urology.

Surgery, July 1979, University of Pisa, massimo dei voti. Title of the thesis: “ Surgical therapy of the vesico-vaginal fistulae”. Published on: Acta Urologica Belgica.

 

Full Professor of Urology of the University of Florence. Teacher to the pupils of the Faculty of Medicine and to the residents of urology and gynecology.

 

Director of the 2nd Urologic Clinic of the University of Florence and of the Scuola di Specializzazione in Urologia of the University of Florence.

 

Publications

Author or coauthor of more than 200 papers published in italian journals and more than 50 published in international journals.

Author of chapters of 10 books of urology.

Productor of 14 videotapes on urologic surgery.

 

Visiting Professor  to the “Lahey Clinic” in Boston, (Professor John Libertino) on the year 2000.

 

Reviewer   of European Urology, Urology  and Urologia Internationalis  from 1999.

EAU working group to produce guidelines on “Renal Transplantation”

In January 2002 he has been invited from European Association of Urology Health Care Office Board in the working group to produce European guidelines on kidney transplantation.

 

The 2nd Urologic Clinic of University of Florence treats with surgery or endoscopy more than 2000 patients per year and from 1991 there are been done more than 600 kidney transplantations.
