MARIO DE GENNARO
Dr Mario De Gennaro, paediatric surgeon and
urologist since 1995; Chief of Urodynamics and
Neurourology Unit since 1995, Department of
Nephrourology at Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital in Rome.
Graduation in 1976 at from the Catholic
University in Rome where he completed training in general paediatric surgery.
Since 1979 consultant pediatric
surgeon at Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital, where he introduced (1982) the
formal practice of paediatric urology and urodynamics.
Between 1980 and 1982 he practiced
paediatric urology abroad, visiting Mr. Ransley (London) and Dr. Mitchell
(Indianapolis).
Main interests rely in the field of paediatric
urology, urodynamics and urinary incontinence . He developed diagnostic
techniques in neurophysiology as well as surgical procedures for urinary
incontinence, especially for neurogenic bladder, in close contact with urological
and urogynecological experts worldwide.
He is President of the Italian Urodynamics Society and vice-President of
the Fondazione Italiana Continenza. (Italian
Foundation on Continence). He is member of ESPU, EUA, ICCS (sScientific cCommittee sincein 1993,1995,1997 respectively) and Board
Member of the ICIQ (International Conference on Incontinence Questionnaires)
Committee. He is recently appointed Chiarman of the Educational Committee of
the ICCS.
He is a member of Editorial Board of
Urodynamics Urodinamica
and as referee of the Journal
of Urology.
He has organized several courses in
paediatric urodynamics, publishing more thean 60 indexed articles,
mainly on urodynamic and continence subjects.
