SHORT CV - LITTA PIETRO SALVATORE

Born in Carosino (TA-Italy) in 1952, He earned his MD from Bari University in 1980; He completed the residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Padova University in 1984.

Since 1989, He was Assistant in the Department of Gynaecological Sciences and Human Reproduction, University of Padova, where his main interest since 1992 has been Hysteroscopic and Laparoscopic  Surgery.

 In 1996 he received the Doctorate of Gynecological Sciences in Timisoara University, Romania.

 Author of a technique “ Hysteroscopic myomectomy” published in 2003 on the review J Am Assoc Gynecol Laparosc

He ‘s Member AGUI (Association Gynecologist University Italia), SEGI (Society of Endoscopy Gynecology Italian), FIOG (Federazione Italiana di Ostetricia e Ginecologia), AAGL Advancing Minimally Invasive Gynecology Worldwide and ESGE (European Society Genecology Endoscopy)

Member Honorary of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Romania Society.

 Author of the  monograph  Hysteroscopic Surgery ,editor Helicon,Timisoara (Romania)

In 2000, he won the Second Prize in a Video Exhibition on Urogynecology in Bologna for his video “Hysteroscopic myomectomy: enucleation in toto”.

He organized  National Congress on Gynecologic Endoscopy in Abano Terme(PD), October 1996 ; the First International Congress on Gynecological Surgery in Venezia, April 2000; “Hysteroscopy Day”, November 2001, Padua; Meeting “ Douglas Endometriosis” , November 2002,Padua;

the Second international Congress on Gynaecological Surgery:Abnormal Uterine Bleeding in Abano Terme (Padova), October 2003 ;Meeting”Urinary incontinence stress”, June 2004;

 the National Congress “Contraception and Menorrhagia with Live Surgery” in Abano Terme (PD), April 2008.

He coordinates as tutor annual courses of Operative Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy since 1999 in the Department of Gynaecological Sciences and Human Reproduction, University of Padova.

He was from 29 november to 6 December 1995 at Depatment of “Gynecology Oncology” University of Arizona-Tucson(USA). Chief: Prof. J. M. Childers.

He was from 2 to 31 og July 2005 at Clinical Observer” Warrell Unit” Saint Mary’s Hospital,

Chief: prof. A. Smith, Manchester-UK.

He was from 1 December to 15 January 2005/2006  at the Department of Gynecologic Oncology

at Charitè-Campus Benjamin Franklin- Chief: A. Schneider, Berlino (Germany)

 He has performed operations in Live Surgery during Congress or course in Itaty and  Abroad.

Tutor as Main Expert at Wattiez’s school of Gynaecologic Surgery “Advance courses of Laparoscopic Surgery ” Chief : A. Wattiez, EITS 2004, Strasbourg (France).

He participated to National and International   Congresses as chairman and referee.

He is the Author of more than 200 papers edited on national and international scientific reviews.

He is Chief of the Endoscopic  Center of the Department of Gynecologic Sciences and Human Reproduction .

His main fields of scientific interest are the urogynaecology, and endometriosis.

Since 1990 He has performed 13.725 procedures in the Gynecologic field as first surgeon: 3.989 Diagnostic and Operative laparoscopy, 8.937 Diagnostic and Operative Hysteroscopy and 323 operations of laparotomic Surgery. In the Obstetrician field 476 Caesarian Sections.
