Curriculum Vitae: ROBERTO BACCICHET

Dr  ROBERTO BACCICHET was born in Vittorio Veneto (Treviso) on August 10th, 1961. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Trieste in 1987 and obtained his medical licence in the same year. At the University of Trieste he also undertook postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology leading to board certification in the same specialty.

He has been registered with the Ordine Provinciale dei Medici Chirurghi e degli Odontoiatri of Treviso since 1987.

In 1989 Dr Baccichet was appointed to the post of gynaecologist in the Department of Obstretrics and Gynaecology of the Hospitals in Treviso, Belluno and Conegliano; since 2002 he has been in charge of the Urogynaecology Unit at the Hospital of Conegliano.

SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

Dr Baccichet has taken part as a speaker and chairman in more than 30 courses and conferences on urogynaecological subjects.

Since 2003 he has organized four national Associazione Italiana di Uroginecologia courses on female urinary incontinence and on prosthetic surgery for pelvic floor disorders and is Director of a didactic and practical residential course on Urogynaecology.

In the years 2004-2005 Dr Baccichet was appointed by AIUG as its representative on the commission the Veneto Region set up to raise public awareness of and inform public opinion on female urinary incontinence.

Dr Baccichet runs monthly surgical sessions for the repair of pelvic floor defects; they have been attended by more than 100 surgeons from Italy and foreign countries like Spain, Croatia, Slovenia, Israel.

The Urogynaecology Unit directed by Dr Baccichet is taking part in six national multicentre trials on the surgical treatment of urinary incontinence and the prolapse of the uterus.
