present their experiences and questions.
The
Integral Theory
states that prolapse and urinary and faecal dysfunction are mainly caused by
connective tissue laxity in the vagina or its supporting ligaments.
Dynamic
Anatomy - function and dysfunction -
Peter Petros
A
brief anatomy of the pelvic floor, and the role of connective tissue structures
in the causation of prolapse, urinary and anorectal dysfunction.
The
history, histology and application of tapes to vaginal and incontinence surgery
How
the use of tapes evolved from the 1950s to today. How the tapes are applied to
reinforce damaged connective tissue structures- Peter Petros.
Diagnosis-
A practical approach to patient assessment and diagnosis of specific anatomical
defects- Ian Hocking
Dr
Hocking will outline his method for assessment of damaged connective tissue.
Actual patient records will be used. The significance of each part of the assessment process will be presented.
Questionnaire, 24 hour diary, pad
testing, urodynamics, dynamic cystourethroscopy, vaginal examination.
