Training Workshops for Surgeons

AAVIS is heavily involved in surgical training and postgraduate education. AAVIS was originally formed by a group of attendees at a workshop who met to learn how to perform an IVS retropubic sling for incontinence in 1997. Workshops remain an essential part of the AAVIS postgraduate education program.

AAVIS Annual Scientific Meeting ........ The ASM remains the main teaching forum each year. The AAVIS ASM includes a full 1 day surgical workshop as well as several PRCRM projects..

AAVIS Mesh Users Roundtable ........ This meeting is an interactive session where experienced surgeons meet to discuss issues with regards to prosthetic materials in pelvic surgery. Indications, techniques, properties of available materials, complications and their management are highlighted. Expert visiting surgeons are able to present their views.
Details of Sydney Adventist Hospital Three Day Workshops ........ The three day workshops held at Sydney Adventist Hospital aim to introduce pelvic surgeons to a range of procedures following a detailed introduction to the integral theory and surgical techniques.

Schedule of Sydney Adventist Hospital Training Workshops for Surgeons Details of three day, one day and half day workshops. International workshops performed by Sydney Adventist Hospital staff are included in this schedule. All workshops are approved for RANZCOG Points and some also attract PRCRM Points.
Ultrasound Workshops ........ These workshops are held at Sydney Adventist Hospital and are hosted by Dr Philippa Ramsay. Hands on training in gynaecological and urogynaecological office ultrasound Eligible for RANZCOG PRCRM Points.
